We look forward to welcoming you to an important conversation with Charles Massy on Thursday the 23rd of May .
For 40 years Charles has farmed his 1820ha property 'Severn Park', on the Monaro tablelands of NSW. Born into a farming family with a great love of the bush, he took on the property at 22, adhering to standard industry practices. With growing unease, he set about overgrazing his pastures and fighting a drought. Until the innocent question of his grandchild started a journey to deeper understanding. '
'why do we have to kill things to grow things?'
Slowly but surely, Charles learnt to read the landscape and empower his land to heal, renew and sustain a healthy farming practice. Joined in conversation by Marian Wilkinson, two time Walkley winner, former producer of Four Corners, currently writing 'The Carbon Club', on the politics of climate change.
Can the well-worn narrative of struggling Australian farmers be overturned?.
